Notice of Retirement and introduction of the new Executive Director

This letter is to serve as notification to all residents that I am retiring effective September 15th, 2021.  I have only been with the Housing Authority for the past five years, but worked with low-income self-sufficiency programs, including housing and homeless programs since the early 1990’s.   It has been my privilege to represent the residents of the Housing Authority and work alongside the ladies in the office and the maintenance crew who strive to uphold program requirements and standards while ensuring that our tenants continue to have safe, affordable housing, to live independently and with dignity.  I have been fortunate enough to have a strong and supportive Board to help guide the direction of the Housing Authority and I will miss working with them and for all of you.

It is my privilege to introduce you to the new Executive Director, Sunny Shaw.

Sunny is a native of Twin Falls and has a long history with housing and a passion for the industry; maintaining and developing safe affordable housing.  I have often heard her refer to herself and others in the industry as ‘Housers’.   Sunny was the Twin Falls Branch Office Supervisor for Idaho Housing & Finance Association for over 5 years before accepting the position as the Executive Director for the Housing Authority of City of Pocatello (HACP) now known as the Housing Alliance & Community Partnerships, for the past ten years.  Through her passion as a ‘Houser’ she became engaged with the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) of which she was elected to serve as President in October 2019 for a two-year term.  Sunny is bringing her passion for housing along with her knowledge and experience to the Twin Falls Housing Authority beginning September 1, 2021.   We are happy to welcome Sunny back to the community and look forward to what the future may unveil.
